Bingham Methodist Centre dance fundraiser for Malawi
The Bingham Methodist Centre have raised money in a dance fundraiser for charity to support vulnerable people in Malawi.
Local people got involved in a Scottish country dance taster session on July 6 to raise funds for the international relief charity All We Can.
Novice and dance pros came together in an effort to support parts of Malawi where poverty is high and many people struggle to feed their families.
The well-attended event contributed to All We Can's initiative to introduce solar irrigation – equipping people with modern farming techniques and providing seed and fertiliser – helping vulnerable families to produce better harvests.
Dressed in traditional Scottish kilts, experienced dancers demonstrated routines and helped onlookers from across the East Midlands to have a go at exercising the mind and body before cream teas were provided in the evening.
