Physical Health and Performance, Farndon, marks ten-year anniversary with bootcamp
A gym is celebrating its ten-year anniversary this weekend, with a bootcamp class.
Physical Health and Performance (PHP), based at Hardy’s Business Park in Farndon, is celebrating its ten-year anniversary on Saturday.
Stuart Birch, director and head coach, who has also been a rugby player and coach, had a strong focus in creating a friendly community hub as he originally ran the Rose and Crown in Farndon before setting up a family friendly gym for the village and surrounding areas.
The business has developed from grassroots basics, working with little equipment and focusing on body weight classes and personal training, to what is now a thriving and well-equipped gym that includes indoor and outdoor class areas as well as weight loss and nutritional coaching.
Stuart said: "Over the years we’ve introduced a great set up in the gym as well as a wide selection of classes ranging from bootcamp to HIIT, my priority has been to maintain consistency. I’ve always ensured that bootcamps are regular and to suit all abilities whether it be teenage classes right through to conditioning for Newark Rugby Club players."
Although PHP, like many gyms, was hit hard by covid-19 and closures, it has continued its commitment to supporting charities.
Over the years Stuart has supported a variety of charities including Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and most recently the Children’s Bereavement Centre.
During 2021, Hannah, Sharon and Victoria, who met at PHP, took on a 24-hour fitness challenge raising £2,500 for the charity.
After ten years, the gym is now looking forward to bright future years and many more bootcamps thanks to the support of the members, many of which have been at PHP from day one.
To celebrate, PHP is holding a birthday bootcamp class on Saturday, February 25 at 9am, also open to non-members to join in something new and help celebrate ten years.
