Boards improve pub's appearance
Advertising boards with silhouettes of musicians were put up on the windows of an empty building in Newark yesterday to try and improve its appearance.
Chairman of Newark Business Club, Mr Dean Hyde, put boards up at Ye Old Market, Castlegate, Newark, a former pub which has been empty for some time.
Businesses in the area have sponsored the boards which contain their logo and a picture of a musician playing and instrument.
Mr Hyde said they chose to use musicians on the boards because they were being attached to a former pub and it would make it look as if there were people inside the building.
He said the scheme proved popular with business in the town and all of the windows had been sponsored.
Mr Hyde said he hoped to repeat the project with other empty buildings.
