A book fair is taking place in Claypole to raise funds to repair the roof of St Peter’s Church in the village

A book fair is set to take place in Claypole to help raise money for a church roof.

It will be held in St Peter’s Church on Saturday, from 10am to 1pm.

Items for sale include books, CDs, DVDs, jigsaws and a tombola as well as refreshments available.

Couple John Padley, who has been the churchwarden at St Peter’s, Claypole, for over 30 years has been fundraising with his wife Gillian Padley.

From a total quantity of 80,000 for the repairs, to which £15,000 was received through insurance, the church has received an additional grant of £15,000.
