Maplebeck, Kersall and Winkburn contest first fun scarecrow competition and it fears Boris Johnson Number 10 lockdown party jibe
Villagers took part in a very-first scarecrow competition to coincide with their traditional annual village fete.
In the run-up to the Maplebeck Garden Fete, villagers of Maplebeck, Kersall and Winkburn were invited to partake in a first annual scarecrow competition.
A variety of very funny scarecrows began appearing around the villages and the winner was judged on Sunday by the new Mayor of Newark, Pamela Ball.

The fete itself was described as a very traditional English affair akin to a fashionable garden party with cake and teas and stalls and entertainment that included Morris dancing.
