Newark Police appeal after group of boys throw eggs at woman during an attempted robbery in Newark Market Square




Officers investigating an attempted robbery in Newark are appealing for the public's help to trace a group of youths involved in the incident.

A woman was walking through Newark Market Square, at about 8.40pm on Sunday June 23, when a group of seven boys, thought to be aged 13-14, started throwing eggs at her before one of them tried to take her bag.

The woman chased after the group but lost them down Tolney Lane. She called the police while giving chase.

The boy who tried to grab her bag had medium-length dark hair and was wearing a pink/red T-shirt with dark trousers.

The other boys were wearing blue and grey tops.

A spokesperson from Newark Polices said: "We'd like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who has any other information that could help us with our enquiries.
