Newark: Warwick Brewery residents frustrated over missing parcels
Residents living in a brewery conversion have been left frustrated by deliveries regularly go to the wrong buildings or not arriving at all.
The former Warwick and Richardson Brewery off Northgate, Newark, is a set of three apartment buildings called Tankard, Cavalier, and Roundhead in honour of the town’s role in the civil war.
While the three buildings are part of the same brewery complex, they are separate buildings with their own entry doors and codes, signs and intercoms.
However, parcels are regularly delivered to the wrong buildings, with some becoming misplaced or lost.
There have also been multiple accounts of delivery drivers not being able to find the right building at all.
One resident, Dylan Richards, only moved to Warwick Brewery towards the end of 2020 but he is already one of many having problems with deliveries.
He said: “My family live 70 miles away, but I get almost every parcel sent to them. I have Amazon Prime so I get everything within 24 hours but if it’s sent to Warwick Brewery I don’t know where it’s going to go.
“I hate having to use the brewery Facebook group to ask about missing parcels.
“It’s a great building but the post situation is rubbish.”
Another resident, Hannah, who has been at the brewery for almost seven years, said: “Loads of my mail kept going to 205 Cavalier, which I didn’t know about until he moved out and I got about a year’s worth of my mail.
“I had been complaining to Amazon, etc, and getting things sent to me multiple times because as far as I was concerned it just kept getting lost.
“I used to get mail delivered to the clothes’ shop because that lady was nice and didn’t mind signing for things for me, but it’s always been a pain getting stuff delivered and I don’t know why.”
One couple who have been living at the site for six years described the delivery situation as a conundrum.
The pair have regularly received parcels for all three of the buildings over the years and have even been buzzed with other people’s takeaway orders.
One of them said: “I find a lot of the delivery drivers don’t come into the front carpark, they use the service road and I think that throws them.
“It’s not any one provider, but we have had many problems have been with Yodel.
“Perhaps bigger signage could be the answer.”
