Nottinghamshire Police confirm van has broken down on A1 between Lavender Way turn-off at Coddington and the Balderton/Claypole exit

There are reports of a broken down van on the A1, which has caused long queues this afternoon (Wednesday).

The AA has reported that the A1 southbound is partially blocked between the Lavender Way turn-off at Coddington and the Balderton/Claypole exit.

Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed that a van has broken down, which is now being recovered, and there is a lane closure in place.

There are reported tailbacks stretching from Coddington up past the A46 turn-off for Newark Air Museum.

Avoid the area if possible.
