Builders’ merchant Jewson Newark, Hawton Lane, closed permanently with customers directed to Grantham, Nottingham Colwick and Lincoln branches

A builders’ merchants has closed its doors in town.

Jewson has recently closed its Newark branch, on Hawton Lane.

The chain, which sells and loans building materials, equipment, supplies, tools and timber, has directed customers to other nearby stores which remain in operation.

The nearest branches are the specialist tool hire branch at Grantham, 13.4 miles from Newark, Nottingham Colwick, which is a landscaping centre 13.8 miles from Newark, and the Lincoln timber specialist branch, 16.7 miles from Newark.

Jewson has been approached for comment.
