Bull rescued from river

A bull was rescued from the River Devon at Farndon in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters from Newark and Collingham were called to the incident at Farndon Fields Farm on Fosse Road just after midnight.

It took four hours to haul the bull out of the river using a winch and a tractor.

A spokesman from Newark Fire said the bull would live to fight another day.
