Business people from around the country will congregate in London today (Thursday) to demonstrate business support for government action on climate change — in the run-up to the General Election.
Among those attending will be Collingham businessman Steff Wright who owns construction company Gusto Group.
Joining him for The Queue for Climate and Nature event will be Gusto Group's head of growth Jenny Garbis and celebrity chef Ian Theasby from BOSH.
"The event is being run by an organisation named Business Declares," said Steff.
"It will be attended by a group of business people who are aware of the worsening climate crisis.
"The climate crisis is happening now and escalating.
"Businesses are becoming frustrated at a lack of legislation reducing dependency on fossil fuels.
"The policies being put out go against scientific advice."
The event will take place at noon today and depart from Peter's Hill, the St Paul's Cathedral end of Millennium Bridge in London.
Event organisers called for business people to join the queue to request UK political party leaders to accelerate action on climate and nature.
"These are business people who have solutions that will be good for the economy, job growth, and the environment," said Steff.
"We are not going to glue ourselves to the road.
"The government needs to encourage businesses to develop new technology and processes.
"There are business people who have solutions that will be good for the economy, job growth, and the environment.
Steff Wright and his group went to the Royal Automobile Club before progressing to the meet-up point of the event.
"It will be useful to talk to ethical and innovative business people who are on the same wavelength," added Steff.
