Princess Diana's dress among Newark shop's fundraising display
A blue dress which belonged to Princess Diana featured in a fashion boutique's blue window display in support of a hospice fundraising campaign.
The Yuki dress, which was commissioned for Diana in 1986 to wear during a visit to Japan, was on show at Vintage 2 Versace, Stodman Street, Newark, which has turned blue this week in support of Beaumond House.
Beaumond House is encouraging businesses to turn their buildings blue this week, Hospice Care Week, in support of its fundraising campaign.
Eight members of staff at Vintage 2 Versace and The Secret Garden Café dressed in blue on Friday and Saturday, donning wigs, bow ties, dresses and face paint.
'The girls were keen to match their make-up with their outfits'
Shop manager Miss Katie Donohue said: "We really wanted to do something because we do a lot for charity and this is a local charity which has a shop only a couple of doors down from us.
"We have got lots of balloons and collection buckets in the kitchen and our staff have donated all of their tips.
"All week we have been deciding what to wear and the girls were keen to match their make-up with their outfits.
"It's nice to contribute in some way and they have enjoyed dressing up."
The Yuki dress was part of an entourage for Princess Diana, however, she wore a slightly dressier one with a beaded collar and kept it in reserve.
The shop acquired the dress from one of Diana's Ladies in Waiting last year and it has a £1,000 price tag.
