Cable theft in Newark disrupts rail services
No trains are running on the Nottingham to Lincoln line through Newark following a cable theft in the area.
The theft has caused damage to the signals and is currently disrupting East Midlands Trains services.
Network Rail engineers are on site working to rectify the fault to enable East Midlands Trains to return to normal as quickly as possible.
In the meantime passengers are advised of the following service changes:
· Services between Cleethorpes and Newark Northgate will terminate at Lincoln.
· Services between Leicester and Lincoln will only run between Leicester and Nottingham.
A regular replacement bus service is operating from Nottingham, Lincoln and Newark Northgate/Newark Castle stations, and all tickets are being accepted on Northern's train services.
