A car dealership is open as usual following a fire which damaged a store room.

The fire broke out at Volkswagen dealership JCT600 on Northern Road, Newark, at 11.23am on Saturday.

It affected the company's IT systems but did not damage the property. No-one was injured or hurt.

The business has opened as normal today and is offering a full service.

Firefighters from Newark and Collingham tackled the fire using hose reels, a jet, a positive pressure ventilation fan and eight breathing apparatus.

Crews were at the scene until around 1.30pm.

Mr Paul Hague, head of business at JCT600, said: "This was a very small, isolated fire in a back-of-house part of the building which has taken out a bit of our IT systems.

"We are still offering a full service.

"No-one was hurt and no property was damaged."
