Kings Court care home residents knit squares for St Giles Church prayer blanket initiative
Care home residents are coming together to knit squares for St Giles Church’s prayer blanket initiative.
Kings Court care home residents are contributing to the project following resident Brenda Jarman’s being given a prayer blanket by the initiative’s founder Madeline Gibson.
As a keen knitter, Brenda shared her appreciation with the other members of the home’s Knit and Natter group.
The group was particularly moved by the thought that the blankets are not only a practical gift but are also blessed and presented with such care and consideration.
Brenda said: “We are so excited to be a part of this wonderful initiative.
“We will happily knit the squares for the church’s project.
“It’s a lovely feeling knowing that something we make will bring comfort to someone else.
“We can’t wait to get started.”
Madeline said: “We started the knitted squares project because we want people to feel loved and cared for, and to know that there are many in the community thinking of them.
“That’s what this project is all about—showing people that others do care.
“It’s had such a positive impact, and we are absolutely thrilled to have the ladies from Kings Court helping us with the squares.”
