Celebrated equestrian artist’s work to be exhibited at Tuxford gallery




An award-winning painter passionate about heavy horses is to have her work exhibited in a Nottinghamshire gallery.

The work of artist Rosemary Sarah Welch, known for her equine paintings, will be showcased in a spring exhibition at Sally Mitchell Fine Arts Ltd gallery in Tuxford.

Rosemary has been an artist for all of her life, and was taught by Leonard Fuller at the School of Painting and Drawing in St Ives, Cornwall.

She now works from her studio in the New Forest, creating paintings of heavy horses, often inspired by her own miniature draft horse Frank.

An award winning artist, Rosemary is a regular exhibitor with the Society of Equestrian Artists and welcomes commissions in oils.

She won the SEA Cuneo Medal in 2011, and said: “Well, what greater accolade that to have your peers express their appreciation of your work.”

A small selection of Rosemary’s paintings are available at the gallery, and the spring exhibition will feature her new work from April 28 until May 17.
