Newark RAFA branch celebrate 75 years with service of dedication

The RAFA Newark and District Branch has reached a milestone anniversary.

The branch marked 75 years last Saturday with a party and a dedication service.

RAFA supports veterans, military family and serving members of the Royal Air Force.

Its Newark club, on London Road, offers live entertainment and veterans’ coffee mornings.

The 75th anniversary celebrations included speeches, live entertainment and cake in the newly-refurbished club and a dedication service at Newark Parish Church.

The standards of neighbouring RAFA branches and ex-military organisations were paraded as part of the service.

RAF-themed decorations were put up in the club, which is behind the Odeon cinema, and guests enjoyed refreshments before and after the service of dedication.
