Chef shares Indian cooking expertise with Southwell u3a's Come Dine with Us group
Members of a foodie community group have had a chance to make authentic Indian food.
Rama Nanda, who has been landlord of Southwell’s 18th century Reindeer Inn for the past 11 years, agreed to join Southwell u3a’s Come Dine with Us group as the guest chef for a meeting.
The group take it in turns to host and cook a two course meal in their own kitchens each month, but have continued to hold some Zoom meetings since the pandemic.
They were joined by Rama at their latest meeting.
Originally from India, Rama learned his cooking skills travelling widely in both India and Europe. During the pandemic, he expanded his culinary hobby by launching a takeaway curry service, which quickly became popular in the Southwell area.
Under Rama’s expert instruction, the Come Dine with Us group prepared Ghobi Pakoras and Khadai Chicken.
Easy to cook and very tasty, the dishes made a very welcome change from traditional British food.
