A Mums in Business Association (MIBA) Nottinghamshire branch, based in Newark, has been set up by Marie Edwards to provide networking opportunities for working mums.
MUMS looking to make new business contacts need look no further than a brand new networking group.
Mums in Business Association (MIBA) was set up in 2017 by two mums who spotted a gap in the market for child-friendly networking opportunities for businessmen and women with children. And now a Nottinghamshire branch, based in Newark, has been set up by Marie Edwards, from Balderton.
She said: "It's an ideal opportunity for women who have started up their own business and want to establish themselves, and they can bring their children to meetings if they want to - that's what makes us unique."
MIBA has over 37,000 members on the main Facebook page and host networking events all over the world.
Marie hosted the Newark group's launch event, which was a huge success with 33 mums and their babies and children attending, the next networking event will be held on Thursday (May 9) from 10am to 12pm at Roman Way, Newark.
You don't have to be a mum with young children, or even a mum at all, to attend the events, and Marie said the meetings are a great way to make contacts in the business world and spread the word about your business.
Marie said: "All women are welcome, you don't have to be a mum, we have women who are just starting out on their own and women who run well established businesses. You always take home a goody bag full of amazing samples and discounts from a huge variety of businesses! Our goodie bags had some truly amazing items in last month!"
Marie also plans to have a guest speaker at each event - the launch event saw Vicky Cozens from Radio Newark giving a talk about her journey in business and Kerri Saxby from Shooting Star PR is planned to attend Thursday's event.
