New chairman appointed to RAF Association Newark and District Branch




A new chairman has been appointed for an armed forces association.

At the RAF Association Newark and District Branch’s annual meeting, Gary Creswell was handed the reins from Allan Hildage.

Gary has served a combined 12 years in the British Army and the RAF.

“It was a bit of a shock, but when I was offered the role I felt it was the right thing to do at the time,” he said.

The role has a three-year tenure and he has begun to outline his plans.

Gary added: “The whole point of the branch is to be there for the members. I want to put on more events for them and I’m trying to put together a past and present night, where past RAF personnel can meet the present.

“I want to do as much as I possibly can.”
