Newark Parish Church choir to perform commemorative jubilee Evensong concert

A special service of Choral Evensong will be held to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

On Sunday, June 26, all are invited to attend the specially themed service at Newark Parish Church, at 5pm.

The music will include Handel's famous Zadok the Priest sung at all coronations since 1727 and a recently written anthem by Thomas Hewitt Jones, In our service, setting the Queen's own words.

The service is sung by the church choir, including the Magnus Scholars.

After the service a drinks reception will be held at the town hall, sponsored by choralevensong.org, a website that promotes Choral Evensong around the country.
