Man wears Christmas jumper weekly to raise money for Newark Children's Bereavement Centre

A man is planning to wear a Christmas jumper every Friday this year to raise money for charity.

Lee Broughton started wearing a Christmas jumper in December last year to cheer up his colleagues at The Barcode Warehouse.

After a few weeks of wearing the jumper every Friday, his colleagues suggested Lee to do it for a whole year and raise money for charity.

“I decided to donate to the Children's Bereavement Centre because it is a local charity and Christmas is mainly about children,” said Lee.

He has raised £115 so far, which is over half of his target of £200.

He added: “The reactions of people are mixed. Some laugh, some smile, some say it's good you are doing it for charity and some say it's not even Christmas!

“I will be wearing a Christmas top every Friday this year, probably not a jumper in the summer but if not then I will wear a T-shirt or shirt.”

Lee is thankful to everyone who has sponsored him and to Mendo and Kirsty for buying him Christmas jumpers.
