A Church leader has been chosen to be a federation president.
The leader of London Road Congregational Church, Newark, has been named president of the Congregational Federation.
Mark Taylor was named president of the federation, made up of independent or congregational churches, at its annual assembly in Birmingham.
To receive the honour, candidates must be nominated and then are voted for by churches across the country. This year Mark was nominated and won the vote.
Mark will be the president for 2022 to 2023, taking on the role as the federation celebrates 50 years since it was formed in 1972.
The federation focuses on the advancement of the Christian faith and has churches directly affiliated to it from England, Scotland and Wales.
