Claypole Primary School spring fair attracts hundreds despite heavy rain
Pupils, teachers, and parents were undeterred by heavy rain as they held a spring fair at their school.
The Claypole Primary School event attracted about 200 people and featured stalls and games organised by pupils.
There was a tombola, hook-a-duck, kite-making classes, and a raffle.
Fathers competed in a cake bake-off. Nottingham-based band Loungeabout performed.
Running club Newark Striders held activity sessions, as did youth football team Fernwood Foxes.
Pupils showcased their business ideas as part of an enterprise project.
They were given £10 each from Grantham-based financial firm Totemic.
Projects included a garden party, and making fudge and chutney.
Money raised at the event will go to the school.
The head, Mrs Heather Burns, said: “It was extremely well supported. We are grateful to people who turned up.”
