Clean getaway

Police hunting thieves who stole washing machines from a lorry in the early hours of Friday, September 24, are appealing for witnesses.
The lorry driver, who had parked in a lay-by on the southbound carriageway of the A1 south of Coddington, was sleeping when three men ripped open the curtain-sided trailer unit at around 2.30am.
Around 90 brand new Zanussi washing machines were removed from the trailer and loaded into another vehicle, which police believe was a white 7.5 tonne lorry.
