Cleaning teams are working to tackle the winter vomiting bug Norovirus at Kings Mill Hospital, Sutton-on-Ashfield.

The outbreak was confirmed on Friday, with 25 patients and six staff initially infected.

Five cleaning teams are working to control the outbreak and are using fogging equipment to control the spread.

Liz Williamson, the on-call manager said: "So far no one has been affected today but it is early days yet."

They are hoping to have just two wards closed to admissions by the end of the day.

The symptoms of Norovirus are a sudden onset of nausea followed by projectile vomiting and watery diarrhoea.
