Co-op releases statement following attempted theft of ATM from Bottesford store




The Co-op has responded after an attempt was made by raiders to steal an ATM from one of their stores in Bottesford.

Leicestershire Police were called to the Grantham Road store around 1.10am on Saturday morning after extensive damage was caused to the front of the store as the suspects entered through the front doors and tried, unsuccessfully, to break into the ATM.

A spokesperson from Central England Co-operative said: “We can confirm that an attempted ATM theft took place at our store in Bottesford food store on Saturday, March 14.

“No members of staff were on duty at the time of the incident.

“The store is now reopened and we are giving our full support to the police as they conduct their investigation.”
