The Co-op on Grantham Road, Bottesford was targeted overnight
Leicestershire Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a Co-op store in Bottesford.
Officers were called to the store around 1.10am this morning (Saturday) where extensive damage was caused to the front of the store as the suspects entered through the front doors.
Police are working to identify if any property was stolen.
It is believed an attempt was made to break into the ATM which was within the premises but this was unsuccessful.
Detective Inspector Jim Hatton said: “Our investigation to establish what happened and identify those responsible are at early stage and a number of enquiries are ongoing including the review of CCTV in the area and carrying out house to house enquiries.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who may have any information relating to this burglary to get in touch. Perhaps you saw the suspects leave in a vehicle? Did you see someone in the area acting suspiciously before the burglary took place?
“Any information you have could be of some assistance so please give us a call.”
Anyone with information relating to the incident is advised to contact police on 101, quoting 20*143198.
This latest raid on the store, which has only been open for a matter of months, follows a string of attacks on Co-op stores in the area, after the Collingham and Lowdham stores were targeted in September and the Cropwell Bishop store in December.
