Cockpit-Fest: Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and much more to appear on Saturday and Sunday
Preparations for this year’s Cockpit-Fest are well under way at Newark Air Museum.
The two-day event, on Saturday and Sunday, attracts exhibitors from across the UK and Europe.
This year 22 visiting cockpits are booked to attend.
There will also be visiting displays such as the Raptor Foundation with its owls, local history, archaeological groups, military re-enactors, book launches and aviation-related displays such as clothing and historical artefacts.
This year there will be flypasts by aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on both days, plus the CGI Lancaster display from Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire.
Running alongside Cockpit-Fest is an aeroboot aviation and avionics sale, which allows the public to search out aviation artefacts, books and models.
The cockpits on show will be the Chipmunk T.10, three Lightning F.6, Jet Provost T3, Anson — G, Hunter FGA.9, two Harrier GR.3s, HS 125, Jetstream 41, Buccaneer S.2B, Jet Provost T.5, Mustang P.51D, P.63 Kingcobra — 43, Hawk T.1A, Spitfire, Jaguar GR.1, Tempest, Whirlwind HAS.1, and Valetta.
