Winthorpe Community Centre hit the more than £100 worth of criminal damages after private party




A community centre has been left in a mess following a private party.

Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to criminal damage following a private party at Winthorpe Community Centre.

The party took place on Saturday (May 4) and spiralled out of control when a number of uninvited and unknown persons entered and caused damage to the fixture and fitting to the value of more than £100.

Newark Police confirmed the centre, which is ran and funded by the community, will be temporarily closed.

A spokesman from the police said: "Winthorpe Community Centre will now be out of action for some time, which will result in further lost revenue."
