Bingham U3A aiming to tackle social isolation gears up for organisation's 40th birthday
A community movement that combats loneliness and offers a range of activities is gearing up for it's 40th birthday.
Bingham U3A is a not-for-profit, self-sufficient movement that aims to tackle loneliness and social isolation within the community.
It's members work to promote positivity, cheerfulness and optimism and offer 36 different activity groups that include anything from quiet indoor games to outdoor challenges.
Bingham U3A is part of a worldwide movement that started in the UK in 1982, so 2022 will see its 40th birthday, which it intends to celebrate in style.
There are 1057 U3A’s in the UK , with more than 450,000 members getting involved in their communities.
The U3A welcomes members from all ethnic and social backgrounds, beliefs, genders and levels of ability.
