Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy welcomes community to spectacular annual firework display
From fairground games to food stalls, an academy’s annual firework display went down a treat.
At Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy, children were entertained by fairground games and sparklers, and families had a variety of food stalls to choose from — as well as the main firework display.
A favourite with children was the traditional candy floss stall, with blue and pink clouds of candy on offer.
Samantha Leek, headteacher at the school, said: “We want to thank everyone who attended our fireworks display and also to those who helped to organise and plan the event. It was a fabulous and exciting display, and a good time was had by all.”
The event was supported by Magic and Miracle Fireworks, St John’s Ambulance, Andrew Pryce, Fosters Event Hire, Bilsthorpe Scouts, North Notts Community First Responders, ENVA, A1 Mobile, Native Crafts and Bilsthorpe’s St Margaret’s Church.
Also in attendance were retired NHS staff Mark, Cathy and Angie, who were raising money for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Samantha added: “The support of our families and local community has once again been amazing and I want to thank all those who attended our sparkling event.”
