Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service give condolences to the family and friends of a man killed in collision on Farndon Road, Newark
The fire service has sent its condolences to the family and friends of a teenager killed in a collision last night.
Firefighters from the Newark Fire Station attended the incident on Victoria Street, Newark, following a call at 10:33pm.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said when crews arrived one vehicle was on its side with two male casualties trapped inside.
Firefighters freed both casualties, however, one man was declared dead at the scene.
Area Manager Andy Macey said: "On behalf of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, I would like to express my condolences to the man’s family and friends for their loss.
"We are grateful to our firefighters and all other emergency services for their support at the scene."
Detective Constable Liah Lane, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a truly tragic incident that resulted in the untimely death of a young man.
“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends, who are currently being supported at this sad time.
“An investigation is currently ongoing to establish exactly what happened, so it’s extremely important that anyone who can assist us does so.
“We’d ask that anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage or CCTV that could aid our inquiries comes forward immediately.”
