  As per the comment below. All opinions my own. I'm not a Councillor, but do have my ear to the ground.
  
  1) The travellers pitch issue hasn't just magically appeared, but is instead a problem left behind by the previous incumbents, partly because of their unsuccessful bid in 2022 to acquire additional funding. Even had the May election gone differently around 80 new pitches would still have to be found to avoid a very large government fine.
  Ideally, parts of Tolney Lane can be raised against flood risk as per old plans. I hope this happens and meets much of the target requirement.
  
  2) Anyone with a top degree fancy working an extra job often requiring full-time hours for just £7K per year including weekends and nights like some of the portfolio holders? Worth adding recently, one councillor on two occasions had tyres slashed shortly after making unpopular decisions, and that their personal record stands as around 60 messages from trolls received in just one day.
  
  3) Why not reduce the spraying of what some scientists believe is a cancer causing chemical used in weedkillers provided other substitutes are found?
  
  4) We all know there is a major problem with ASB and crime. New techniques are being tried out including extra patrols at crime hot-spot locations, and more police officers are working undercover. Lots more needs to be done of course.
  
  5) The market is dead some days with just a few stalls. Residents may prefer some market stalls to be cleared away for part of the week to help reduce ASB and to give CCTV better coverage?
  
  6) Big government requirements dictate refugee/migrant housing. IMHO we should also be doing more to support young people, to help the homeless, many of whom are veterans with PTSD, and to build cheaper homes.
  
  I am assured by councillors that big future ambitious plans are currently being formulated and discussed.

  The achievements of our new woke minority labour majority council are piling up...
  
  1) imposing travellers on a green field site in Balderton against residents wishes
  2) awarding themselves remuneration increases
  3) banning effective weed killers which means this time next year the towns pavements will be choking in weeds
  4) an uptick in anti social behaviour which has even interrupted public events
  5) the denouement of Newark market place, announced above. I can imagine other days will soon be in their sights.
  6) a council that seems more excited about helping refugees from god knows where rather providing reliable public services
  
  Ppl wanted a change from the Tories understandably but they did not want this soaking wet agenda.
