Newark Town Council planning Market Place event to mark King Charles coronation

A large outdoor screen will broadcast the coronation of King Charles III ion Newark's Market Place in May.

It is one of several events organised by Newark Town Council to mark the coronation on Saturday May 6.

Picnic tables will be available near the large outdoor screen for friends and families who wish to bring their 'Big Lunch’ to share.

The tables and chairs will work on a first-come first-served basis and the public is welcome to take their own deckchairs.

Other activities planned include music, face painting and children’s activities.

Newark Town Hall will provide a historic backdrop for the coronation screening and a canopy of bunting above the market stalls.

The event will take place from 9am to 4pm.

The coronation broadcast times have yet to be officially announced.
