Coronavirus case confirmed in Southwell as town council issues letter of advice to stay safe
There has been a case of the coronavirus confirmed in Southwell today (Tuesday).
The announcement was made by Southwell Town Council in a letter released on its Facebook page.
It reminded its residents to stay calm and follow the advice published by Public Health England.
The statement read: "It is understood that a coronavirus case has been confirmed in Southwell. During this time, can we remind all our residents to follow Public Health England's advice."
Advice issued by the authority includes:
- Wash your hands with soap and water often, do this for at least 20 seconds
- Always wash your hands when you get home or into work
- Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when your cough or sneeze
- Put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
- Try and avoid close contact with people who are unwell
The authority warned people not to touch their eyes, nose or mouth if their hands are not clean.
