A council is to attend court this week to obtain an eviction notice after Travellers pulled onto a carpark in Newark.
Newark and Sherwood District Council is attending court on Tuesday to obtain the eviction notice in case the group of Travellers does not leave Appletongate carpark of their own accord.
Once the eviction notice has been served, anyone occupying the land without permission has 24 hours to leave before they are forced to move.
Caravans pulled onto the council-owned carpark early last week, the second illegal encampment there in less than a year.
The council closed the carpark to the public as a safety measure.
