Newark and Sherwood District Council offer guidance to the public on how to report anti-social behaviour

A council has given advice to the public about how they can report anti-social behaviour.

This comes off the back of several well-documented examples of the problem having taken place in the Newark area.

Newark and Sherwood District Council have asked the public to report anti-social behaviour and have offered guidance on the issue.

"Please help us by reporting anti-social behaviour whenever you see it to keep our communities safe," said a spokesman from Newark and Sherwood District Council.

"Anti-social behaviour is behaviour which causes a nuisance, harassment, alarm or distress to one or more people in different households.

"It can affect anyone at any time and is often deeply threatening to our sense of safety.

"You can speak to the anti-social behaviour team, in confidence, about any issues or concerns you may have.

"To register an ASB complaint, you can contact us or use the online ASB reporting form on our website: https://www.newarksherwooddc.gov.uk/asb/ ."

The spokesman added that the council is committed to tackling the problem of anti-social behaviour in the district.

Residents are advised to ring 999 if it is a police emergency or there is a crime in progress.

To report a crime or nuisance, they can ring the police non-emergency number on 101.
