'Increased threats' from state-sponsored Russian hackers amid war in Ukraine, warns Farnsfield Parish Council
A council has warned of 'increased threats' from state-sponsored Russian hackers amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Farnsfield Parish Council said the UK was seeing a rise in threats from hackers and that reports would only increase much further.
The council made the announcement on its Facebook page.
It advised the public to treat all emails, especially business and private, as a possible and real threat.
"The UK is seeing increased threats from state-sponsored Russian hackers and expect that will only increase much further now," wrote the authority.
"Our advice is now to treat all emails esp to your business and private hotmail etc as a possible and real threat.
"Malware and ransomware mail will kill your PC dead wiping data.
"Do not click on any links or download anything you do not trust. If in doubt delete it immediately."
