Fire at County Hall, home of Nottinghamshire County Council




A fire has been reported at County Hall in West Bridgford.

Firefighters are in attendance at County Hall, home of Nottinghamshire County Council, at present.

Elected members and council staff have been evacuated from the building.

Smoke can be seen billowing from a ground-floor window.

Five fire engines are on scene.

The landmark headquarters are on Loughborough Road on the banks of the River Trent, date to the 1930s and opened in 1946.

It houses the council’s chamber for meetings as well as services and support offices.
