AN UNINSURED driver who went to Chatham Court, Newark, in breach of a restraining order and with a knuckle duster on him, was sentenced to a 12-month community order.

Dominik Chlebek, 37, of Farndon Road, Newark, admitted possessing an offensive weapon, breach of a restraining order, and driving without insurance when he appeared before Nottingham magistrates.

The offences were committed on October 22.

Chlebek also admitted to the possession of cocaine at Mansfield Police Station the following day, for which he was fined £30.

He was in breach of suspended prison sentence for offences of assault and stalking when he re-offended.

The operational period of that sentence was increased from 18 months to 20 months.

Magistrates felt it unfair to send Chlebek to prison because, in their view, the breach of the restraining order was of a technical nature, because of his personal mitigation and because of the loss of an eye, for which he was awaiting surgery.

Costs of £190 were awarded against him.

A DRINK-DRIVER who was marginally over the limit was fined £415 and banned for 14 months.

Joshua Kendrick, 22, of Trenchard Close, Newton, committed the offence at Gunthorpe.

The reading was 42mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Kendrick, who pleaded guilty, was told to pay costs of £126.
