A PERSISTENT shop thief was jailed for 16 weeks at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.
Christopher Binns, of London Road, Newark, who was already serving a suspended sentence, was jailed for that reason and for a lengthy record of previous offending.
Binns, 36, admitted 32 offences of theft from stores of items including sunglasses, alcohol, meat, toiletries, cosmetics and a microwave.
A 25-YEAR-OLD who threatened to kill a woman and blow up her home received a suspended prison sentence.
Jarad Watson, 25, of Sycamore Road, Ollerton, was jailed for 20 weeks by magistrates, suspended for a year.
The sentence, which included rehabilitation and 180 hours of unpaid work, was suspended because magistrates saw a prospect of rehabilitation.
In addition to those offences, Watson also pleaded guilty to two offences of criminal damage, smashing a window at the woman’s home and breaking her mobile phone, and four counts of assaulting her.
A restraining order was imposed by the court .
