COURT LISTINGS: Stolen goods, shoplifters and burglar




A THIEF with a lengthy record was jailed at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court for stealing spirits.

Daniel Schofield, 30, of no fixed abode, stole spirits on two occasions, to the value of £59.50 and £160, from Waitrose.

He pleaded guilty to both thefts and was sentenced to four weeks.

A THIEF who took spirits from both Waitrose and Asda was jailed for 12 weeks at the same court.

Nathan Walsh was incarcerated because of his lengthy record and because he committed his latest offending while on a community sentence that Nottingham magistrates said he had shown flagrant disregard for.

Walsh, 30, of Walnut Tree Mews, Newark, admitted four thefts and was told to pay compensation.

A MAN who damaged a National Lottery stand and bag stand at a Co-op was fined £80.

Thomas Draper, 26, of Hawton Road, Newark, admitted criminal damage and threatening violence.

He was conditionally discharged for 18 months and must pay £100 compensation and £105 in costs.

A WOMAN who stole vodka while already subject to a court-imposed conditional discharge was sentenced to unpaid work.

Alice Allsop, 24, of Belvoir Road, Balderton, admitted theft and was also re-sentenced for her previous offending.

She must complete 60 hours of community service as part of a 12-month community order.

Allsop was ordered to pay £32 compensation and costs of £175.

A BURGLAR who stole an iPhone and notes and coins totalling £115 from a Newark cafè was jailed.

Wayne Cook, 49, of Queens Court, Newark, admitted burglary from Carriages at Castle Station, whom he must pay £200 compensation.

In unrelated offences, Cook further admitted handling stolen goods, namely a Transit van, and driving it without a licence or insurance.

He was jailed for a total of 22 weeks.

Speaking afterwards, Carriages thanked the police for their speedy response and for bringing Cook to book.
