COURT: Theft, uninsured drivers and cannabis possession
A thief with a bad record for offending has been further jailed by Nottingham magistrates.
Bradley Jones, 27, of Lincoln Road, Newark, already serving a prison sentence received eight weeks in jail after admitting the theft of two bottles of Jack Daniels. He must pay the Co-op £40 compensation.
A driver who failed to stop for police was fined and disqualified for six months.
James Sullivan, 35, of Cliff Nook Lane, Newark, admitted the offence and also to driving without a licence.
He was ordered to pay an £83 fine and costs of £117.
Sullivan was also uninsured and, for that, was fined £250 and had eight penalty points added to his licence.
A man who assaulted a police officer in a hospital was sentenced to a communitabisy order with a night-time curfew.
Mark Fletcher, 39, had denied the offence and one of threatening behaviour at the Queen’s Medical Centre, but was found guilty of both after a trial.
He was sentenced to a 12-month community order with an electronically-monitored curfew of 8pm to 6am daily at his address of Orchard Drive, Cotgrave.
Fletcher was fined £40 and £325 costs. He was fined a further £80 after admitting an earlier threatening behaviour.
A man who admitted possessing cannabis was conditionally discharged for 12 months.
Philip of the Durham Family, previously known as Phillip Durham, of Grosvenor Road, Balderton, denied possession, but was found guilty at trial.
He must pay £120 costs.
An uninsured disqualified driver was further banned for 12 months.
Darren Seal, 48, of Carnarvon Place, Bingham, was caught in a Renault on Nottingham Road in the town.
He pleaded guilty to both offences and and was fined £200 and told to pay £117 in costs.
A motorist admitted driving while disqualified, without a test certificate and with no insurance.
Cameron Mickle, 22, of Blossom Gardens, Cotgrave, was fined £180, told to pay costs of £115, and had six points added to his driving record.
