Two coronavirus cases confirmed at Dixons Carphone distribution centre on Long Hollow Way, Newark
Two coronavirus cases have been confirmed a distribution centre in Newark.
The two colleagues that tested positive at the Dixons Carphone campus on Long Hollow Way are in quarantine but are both doing well.
A number of additional employees have been identified through an internal track and trace process and asked to also self-isolate as a precaution.
The centre is home to names including Currys PC World, Dixons, Mastercare and Carphone Warehouse.
The positive cases refer to the Long Hollow Way site rather than the Currys PC World store in Newark, where there are no cases of covid-19.
A Dixons Carphone spokesman said: “There is no greater concern for us than the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues. We have closely followed the government’s ‘working safely during coronavirus’ guidance throughout the pandemic, and have put extensive hygiene and social distancing measures in place to make our sites covid-secure.
“Unfortunately, we can confirm that we have had two colleagues in separate buildings on our Newark Campus test positive for covid-19, thankfully both of whom are doing well. As soon as the cases were suspected, both colleagues were immediately sent home to self-isolate and be tested.
"We worked quickly to instigate our internal track and trace process, through which a small number of additional colleagues were identified and also asked to self-isolate as a precaution, and our affected colleagues’ work areas were cordoned off and deep cleaned.
"Our Newark facilities are operating as usual and we will continue to be vigilant and support our colleagues.”
