Crash driver named

A man who died in a crash on the A46 at Newark last week has been formally identified.
Hitesh Patel, 40, of Thurmaston in Leicestershire, was killed following a collision involving his silver Honda Accord car and an HGV at around 10.15am on Wednesday October 12.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, which occurred on the bridge section of the A46 that crosses the East Coast Mainline.
Witnesses who saw the silver Honda car in the moments leading up to the collision are also asked to telephone the Nottinghamshire Police Crash Investigation Unit on 0300 300 99 99 extension 800 2225.
