Crash victim named

Police investigating a road crash on the A1 slip road have named the man who died.

Adam James Hodkinson, 31, of Claypole, was in collision with a Citroen Xsara Picasso, driven by a woman on the southbound slip road to the A1 at Claypole around 11.20pm on Sunday night.

Mr Hodkinson died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver was uninjured but was left shaken.

Detectives are keen to trace a number of people who they believed stopped at the scene, in particular a woman who administered first aid to Mr Hodkinson, but left before the emergency services arrived.
