A pedestrian crossing will be installed on a busy Newark road but residents are still waiting to hear if the speed limit will be reduced.

Nottinghamshire County Council have confirmed that a puffin crossing, including traffic lights, will be installed on Lincoln Road by the end of March.

It will be placed in the vicinity of the Sure Start Bridge Children's Centre, although an exact location is yet to be finalised.

There is a long-running campaign for the limit on the road to be cut from 40mph to 30mph.

The county council is carrying out a review of speed limits across the whole of Nottinghamshire, including Lincoln Road, but routes will not be prioritised until next year.
