Police launch dashcam appeal after cyclist seriously injured in collision near Cropwell Bishop




Detectives investigating a road traffic collision that left an cyclist in hospital with serious injuries are seeking dashcam footage.

Emergency services were called to Colston Road, near Cropwell Bishop, at 3.45pm on Thursday (April 10) after a collision involving a car.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, remains in hospital with serious injuries.

All parties involved in the incident remained at the scene and are helping police with their inquires.

Officers investigating what happened want to hear from any drivers who passed by the scene in the minutes before the incident.

They particularly want to hear from drivers with dashcam footage recorded on Colston Road between 3pm and 4pm.

Detective Constable Andrew Fawcett, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a serious incident that left a man in hospital with very nasty injuries.

“As we work to understand exactly what happened we are appealing directly to potential witnesses who may have passed a car parked in a layby near to the Canal footpath.

“It is vital that we understand the movements of this vehicle in the moments leading up to this collision and believe that dashcam footage may provide us with the answers we are looking for.”
