DevOATed, a dairy-free milkshake start-up, has been named among the top food and drink producers globally this year.

DevOATed, founded in Hockerton, has picked up a highly prized 1-star Great Taste award for its chocolate oatshake.

14,195 products were put through the competition’s rigorous blind judging process; and devOATed was dubbed a “delicious chocolatey milk” with “a really pleasing creaminess and mouth-feel, and luxurious texture”, at the world’s most coveted food and drink awards.

Described as having “an alluring lustre and thickness evoking the look of a classic milkshake. The texture is light and creamy, the chocolate was prominent in the aroma”.

This dairy-free oatshake was a big hit with the Great Taste judges.

Made with British-grown oats and all natural ingredients on the family farm near Southwell, devOATed produces artisan flavoured oatshakes in small batches freshly every week.

Oli Christy from devOATed said: “We spent two years developing and perfecting the product and recipe, and only launched it to market in April this year, so to have received such a high accolade so soon is wonderful.

“Being recognised with a Great Taste award means so much to independent producers such as us, as it makes all the hard work and determination worth it. Great Taste is the most recognised accolade for taste and quality in the food and drink industry, so it’s a huge moment for us.”
